Print of the Week

I recently received an email from online retailer 'Bengt Fashion' and it featured one of their newest stockists and recent graduate - Joanna Pybus

I LOVE the playful eye print that runs throughtout her 'Splice Me' collection and this applique eye top has gone to the top of my wish list!

The first week back at the drawing board.

This week has set me off on a good start to this project. I had a constructive tutorial which encouraged me to question the reasoning for using my chosen imagery, subjects and processes within my work: not in a negative way but in a way that ensures what you are doing matches your aesthetics, what you would like to achieve and the way you would like your design style to be developing.

My theme has developed from these lines taken from a well known rhyme:

If you go down to the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today,
You'd better go in disguise.

Exploring the theme of an unexpected depiction of a woodland in bloom. Initially inspired by the beauty of an english woodland but feeding in a new twist, more of which will be seen later!

For now, here is my new space and some little workers i'd like to introduce you to...

In other news, there was a Textiles Birthday with plenty of cake as the lovely Lauren Burke turned 22! Check out her beautiful work and creative prints over here!
